SOLO:

John Padovano performs solo year round along the Jersey shore (USA) at
coffeehouses and cafes. He was born in Newark, New Jersey (USA) and then moved
to the shore area where he recorded and released five independent albums. His
fifth collection of songs THE DUSTY ROAD SESSION was recorded on one afternoon,
live in-studio without over-dubs with only his vocal and acoustic guitar. All 27
songs on this CD were written by Padovano. A B Movie I Was In and Dusty Road are
the key songs on this year-2000 release. There is a cinematic theme to the Dusty
Road Session; the first song is called Opening Song and the last song is called
Closing Song. And in-between are songs varied in topics. But there is a definite
yearning for simpler days that inter-twines this collection. His first four
albums are entitled : SET IN NOVEMBER, BLUES STATION MEMOIRS, SONGS AND
BELONGINGS, and LOST IN A CROWD. He opened for Leon Redbone, which is telling of
his own varied style of songs. His influences range from Sinatra, Louis
Armstrong, Lightnin'Hopkins, Sonny Terry and Brownie Mcghee to The Beatles, Ray
Davies and Bob Dylan. He considers a show he saw of Sonny Terry and Brownie
McGhee in Greenwich Village , New York a definite influence on his deciding to
keep up live performances at coffeehouses and cafes.

THE DUSTY ROAD SESSION PLAYERS:

A roots-blues show. Although much of the material will be original, he will acknowledge other blues songwriters such as Lightnin' Hopkins, Brownie McGhee , Leadbelly, and Willie Dixon.

John released an album a few years back entitled Blues Station Memoirs, and he performed as a duo and trio called Blues Station. His latest release is entitled Innocent Waters.
Although his style crosses over from folk, folk-blues, balladeer, jazz , music hall, etc. , he has always had a blues background going back to his early years of performing along the Jersey Shore. This show will include other musicians. He hopes to make this a once-a-month show. Each week may possibly include different musicians to be included in The Dusty Road Session Players. The musicains that you might see on and off are:
Diane Doolittle,
Billy Hays,
Samuel Padovano,
Pat Greaves,
and John-Paul Padovano.
